Our vision of being a life-giving and life-affirming community at St George’s is supported by the ministry of pastoral care and support. In a large multi-congregational church community like St. George’s, the nurturing support of a pastoral care team is crucial to fostering a caring community in Christ.
Rev Josh Jones is the St George’s Pastoral Care Co-ordinator, and oversees the Pastoral Care Team members who have volunteered to call or visit people.
We also look out for new people on Sundays, for those who are unwell, and provide meals when needed. Formal training each year is provided to equip and support members in fulfilling their caring roles.
Please contact Josh on Sunday or through the church office if you, or someone you know, is sick, in hospital, bereaved, or needs a listening ear, and he will follow it up. We would rather hear twice than not hear at all. Josh also offers one on one pastoral support, should it be needed.
