Who's Who

Admin

Shami Chand – Secretary / Full time Parish Office

Shami’s is the voice at the end of the church office. As secretary she is responsible for reception, hall bookings, wedding liaison, and all the PowerPoints and rosters for the morning Sunday services.

For general enquiries about the church or staff, ask Shami. She’ll make sure you find the information, resources and people you need.

Lisa Greatbatch – Vicar's PA
Lisa keeps everything ticking over in the office and acts as the Vicar’s PA.

As a member of the 9 am congregation, she enjoys encouraging believers and bringing people into environments where they can be nourished with the love of God.

Recently married to Rowen who was also widowed for a number of years, together they have seven children.

Malcolm Taylor – Treasurer

Malcolm and his wife Rennae come from Wellington and have been at St George’s since 1996. Malcolm is semi-retired but oversees the administration of the church and serves on vestry as the treasurer.

He and Rennae have been involved in missions support and youth work for many years. Malcolm is still actively involved with International Needs and is the treasurer for regional council of the Churches Education Commission which runs Bible in Schools.

Chris Chung – Verger

Chris’ role is unobtrusive but vital to the smooth running of a busy community.

As verger, he’s the one responsible for opening the buildings, turning on the heaters, maintaining the property, and making sure everything is where it should be for services and weddings or people using the hall. In other words, all those details we’d soon notice if they weren’t attended to!
