Our services cover a variety of styles. Some use liturgy, silence, and a mix of modern songs and older hymns.

We also have a monthly Gathering for praise, worship and prayer ministry, a monthly Youth service and the Oasis Alt-Worship service approximately monthly.

Connections

St George’s seeks to empower people to be Christ’s followers in the world, whether in their workplace, local community, Auckland city, New Zealand or overseas. A number of people represent these ministries beyond the congregation.

Volunteer Ministries

Faith @ Work

Through short-term home groups St George’s aims to help people connect their faith in practical ways to their Monday-to-Friday lives. We also contribute to the Churches Marketplace Initiative which seeks to engage traditional churches with the marketplace in a way that is missional, transforming and redemptive.

Bible in Schools

This programme provides opportunities to teach about the Christian faith at local primary schools.

Rest homes

Pastoral staff and others visit and organise services in local rest homes. Residents of the Elizabeth Knox and Ranfurly homes attend St George’s services regularly.

Prison Fellowship

Provides support for those in prison and their families. St George’s members contribute annually to the ‘Angel Tree’ programme, buying and distributing Christmas presents for inmates’ children. Others assist with monthly services in prisons.
